2018 From Oven and Kiln event live auction bidders
From Oven and Kiln (2007 — 2018) was the NWCF’s main fundraising event. Held every three years, “O + K” enabled the Foundation to fund many of its programs. The event was made possible by generous donations from many of British Columbia’s most celebrated artists. The evening consisted of a gourmet dinner, which was held from 2012 to 2018 at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. The dinner was followed by a silent auction of works by outstanding BC ceramic artists, the presentation of the NWCF Award of Excellence, and the recipient artist talk. Each guest was presented with a unique dessert plate made and donated by a local potter
The 2018 From Oven and Kiln Fundraiser was held Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. The sold-out event brought together contemporary artists and collectors to bid on the best of BC Ceramics. The live auction with Hank Bull was an enormous success, contributing to what was the coolest event in town. The proceeds of this fundraiser allowed us to support The North-West Ceramics Foundation Award of Excellence, the NWCF Speaker Series, The Maureen Wright Scholarship, the Canadian Clay Symposium, Arts Umbrella and other initiatives.
In 2021, From Oven and Kiln was replaced by an on-line auction and live event called That Pottery Thing.
