Alwyn O’Brien is and ceramic artist and educator ceramic dividing her time between Saltspring Island and Vancouver, B.C. She studied ceramics at Sheridan College of Crafts and Design in Ontario and completed her BFA at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She received her MFA in 2010 from the University of Washington in Seattle. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the NWCF award and the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics. Her work is featured in the collections of the Seattle Art Museum, the Surrey Art Gallery, Boise Museum of Art, the Mackenzie Art Gallery, and the Canadian Clay and Glass museum. Alwyn joined the Board in 2018. Represented by the James Harris Gallery in Seattle, WA, she is currently an instructor in ceramics at Langara College in Vancouver.
