Application for the Maureen Wright Scholarship
This bursary was established by the North-West Ceramics Foundation and the Wright family to honour the self-taught potter Maureen Wright, who died of cancer in 1997.
The scholarship is open to B.C. residents who are not currently enrolled in a full-time ceramics programme, to attend short-term educational activities in ceramics. The fund will contribute up to $200.00 toward costs.
Funds for this scholarship are generated on an ongoing basis by members of the Potters’ Guild of British Columbia who donate mugs for the mug wall sales that are set up at major ceramics events.Eligibility
- The candidate must be a resident of British Columbia.
- Board members of the North-West Ceramics Foundation and the Potters’ Guild of British Columbia are not eligible.
- Students currently enrolled in a full-time ceramics programme are not eligible.
- Previous recipients may reapply after five years.

How to Apply
Write a letter of application which includes all of the following:
- Describe the workshop or conference that you wish to attend. Please provide supporting documentation if available.
- Provide a budget of estimated cost.
- Describe how this event will help your work.
- Include your CV.
All applications are considered confidential. Applications may be made at any time by novices or established artists. Funds to successful applicants may be paid directly to workshop or conference registrars.
Submissions should be sent to the North West Ceramics Foundation. Please be sure to mark “Maureen Wright Scholarship” on the envelope.
